Yes. Every order ships in a plain, unbranded box or mailer with no product images, logos, or category wording on the outside. The return label uses a neutral sender name, so nothing on the package indicates what is inside.

Sometimes. Because of age-restricted shipping rules, carriers may require an adult signature (21+) on delivery. If nobody is available, the carrier will leave a notice and reattempt, usually up to three times, before returning the package to us.

A tracking number is emailed to you the moment your order ships. Note that carriers often do not activate tracking until 7–8 PM PST on the day of shipment, so a number that shows no movement at first is normal.

If tracking has not updated after two business days, contact us and we will open a trace with the carrier.

Superstrain accepts returns on devices and electronics for 30 days from the date you receive them. Items must be unused, in the same condition you received them, in original packaging with all tags, and accompanied by a receipt or proof of purchase.

Returns must be approved before you ship anything back — packages sent without an approved return request cannot be accepted.

Contact us through the Contact page with your order number and the reason for the return. If the return is accepted, we will email you a return shipping label along with step-by-step instructions for where and how to send the package.

Used items, sale items, gift cards, custom orders, personal care goods, and hazardous materials — including butane — are final sale and cannot be returned. Everything else in devices and electronics is eligible within the 30-day window. The full list:

Most devices we carry are covered by a manufacturer warranty, typically 90 days to 1 year depending on the brand. Warranties cover manufacturing and electrical defects; they do not cover drops, cracked glass, water damage, or normal wear on coils and atomizers.

No. Superstrain does not charge restocking fees on approved returns. You receive the full purchase price of the returned item back to your original payment method.

Superstrain carries four main vaporizer types: dry material vaporizers, concentrate vaporizers (often called dab pens), 510 thread batteries for standard cartridges, and portable e-rigs that combine an electronic heater with water filtration.

We also stock the replacement coils, atomizers, chargers, and mouthpieces those devices need.

A 510 thread battery is a rechargeable power source with the industry-standard 510 connection — ten threads on a 5 mm diameter post. It is the most common fitting in the industry, so a 510 battery works with virtually any 510-threaded cartridge or atomizer regardless of brand.

Most 510 batteries offer variable voltage, typically between 2.0V and 4.2V, so you can tune output to the cartridge you are using.

A dry material vaporizer heats loose plant material in a chamber, while a concentrate vaporizer heats extracts on a coil or ceramic dish at a much higher temperature. They are not interchangeable — putting concentrate in a dry material chamber will clog and ruin it.

An e-rig is a battery-powered device that heats an atomizer to a precise temperature and pulls the vapor through water for filtration and cooling. Compared with a pen, an e-rig delivers larger, smoother draws and far more temperature control, in exchange for more size and a higher price.

Popular e-rig platforms include the Puffco Peak line and Lookah's Seahorse and Dragon series.

Conduction heats material by direct contact with a hot surface; convection heats it with hot air passing through. Conduction devices heat up faster and cost less, while convection devices deliver more even extraction, better flavor, and less risk of scorching.

Many mid- and high-end devices are hybrid, using both methods to balance speed and flavor.

Start low and work up. Lower settings preserve flavor and terpene character; higher settings produce denser, warmer vapor. These ranges cover most devices:

If you taste burning, drop one setting. Running a cartridge too hot is the most common cause of a burnt coil.

Blinking is how most pens report an error, and the number of blinks identifies which one. Three blinks almost always means a short circuit from an over-tightened cartridge, and ten to fifteen blinks means the battery needs charging. The common codes:

• 3 blinks — short circuit, usually a cartridge screwed in too tight. Loosen a quarter turn.
• 10–15 blinks — battery is low. Recharge it.
• 4–5 blinks — connection or atomizer fault. Clean the 510 contact with a dry cotton swab.
• Continuous blinking while drawing — the 10-second safety cutoff. Draw in shorter pulls.

Blink codes vary slightly by brand — check the manual that came with your device if none of these match.

Most lithium-ion vaporizer batteries deliver 300–500 full charge cycles, roughly one to two years of regular use. Charge with the USB-C or micro-USB cable that came with the device, and unplug once it reaches full — leaving it on the charger overnight shortens its life.

Store batteries between 20% and 80% charge if a device will sit unused for weeks, and never charge on a soft surface like a bed or couch.

Match the coil to your exact brand and model — coils are not cross-compatible between manufacturers, and often not between models from the same brand. Check the model name printed on the device body, then search that name in our Accessories collection.

If you are unsure, message us with a photo of the device and we will confirm the correct part before you buy.

Devices containing lithium-ion batteries must travel in your carry-on, never in checked luggage — this is an FAA safety rule. Power the device off completely and pack it so the button cannot be pressed in your bag.

Rules for what you can bring vary by state and country. Check the regulations at your destination before you travel.

Superstrain stocks water pipes, bubblers, hand pipes and chillums, dab rigs, quartz bangers, carb caps, downstems, ash catchers, and replacement bowls. Pieces range from durable everyday borosilicate to collectible artist work from studios like Empire Glassworks.

Borosilicate is a glass formulated with boron trioxide, which gives it a very low coefficient of thermal expansion. In practice that means it resists thermal shock — it can go from cold water to direct heat without cracking the way ordinary soda-lime glass does.

Wall thickness matters too. Look for 5 mm walls on a daily-use piece; 3 mm is fine for lighter pieces but chips more easily.

They differ in size, filtration, and portability. A water pipe is the largest and filters through water; a bubbler is a handheld piece with a small water chamber; a hand pipe and chillum are dry, pocket-sized, and use no water at all.

A banger is the bucket-shaped bowl on a dab rig where concentrate is vaporized. Quartz is the most popular choice because it heats quickly and gives the cleanest flavor. Titanium is nearly unbreakable but adds a metallic note; ceramic holds heat longest but is slow and fragile.

Look for a thick bottom — 2 mm or more — so the banger holds temperature through a full draw.

Joint size is the outside diameter of the glass connection, and it must match exactly. Measure the opening with calipers, or compare it to a coin: 10 mm is about the width of a pencil eraser, 14 mm is close to a dime, and 18 mm is close to a nickel.

14 mm is the most common size by a wide margin. If you already own accessories, buy to match them — reducers and adapters work, but every extra joint is another place to leak.

A male joint fits inside the opening it connects to; a female joint receives the other piece inside it. Accessories must be the opposite gender of the piece they attach to — a 14 mm male banger goes into a 14 mm female rig.

Product listings state both size and gender. If a listing says “14mm female,” that is the joint on the piece itself, so you need a 14 mm male accessory.

A carb cap sits on top of a banger and restricts airflow, which lowers the pressure inside and lets material vaporize fully at a lower temperature. It is the single cheapest upgrade to flavor and efficiency, and yes — if you use a banger, you want one.

Directional and bubble caps let you spin airflow around the bucket so nothing pools and wastes at the edges.

Yes. A percolator breaks the draw into smaller bubbles, increasing contact with water so vapor arrives cooler and smoother. More percolation means a smoother hit but more drag and more cleaning.

Choose size by how much you process at once. Most people are best served by a 55–63 mm grinder, which handles a few grams comfortably without being awkward to hold.

The piece count is how many chambers the grinder has. A 2-piece is just a lid and a grinding chamber. A 3-piece adds a collection chamber below a screen. A 4-piece adds a bottom pollen catcher that collects the finest particles that fall through.

Four-piece grinders are the most popular because nothing is lost — the fine material that would otherwise stick to the walls collects in the bottom chamber.

A pollen catcher is the bottom chamber of a 4-piece grinder, separated by a fine mesh screen. As you grind, the smallest and most potent particles fall through the screen and collect there, so you can save them and use them separately.

Screens are usually 100–150 micron stainless steel. A small scraper tool is normally included for lifting the collected material out.

Neither is universally better. Electric grinders are faster and much easier on hands with limited grip strength or arthritis, while manual grinders give you finer control over grind consistency, never need charging, and last far longer.

If you process large amounts or have joint pain, go electric. For everyday use and consistency, a quality manual grinder is hard to beat.

Anodized aircraft-grade aluminum is the best balance of weight, durability, and price, and it is what most premium grinders use. Stainless steel is heavier and the most durable overall; wood looks great but wears at the teeth; acrylic is inexpensive and cracks the fastest.

Look for CNC-machined teeth and a magnetic lid — magnets keep the top aligned so it does not spill or grind unevenly.

Match torch size to your setup. A compact single-flame torch is enough for small quartz and travel; a triple- or quad-flame torch heats thick bangers evenly and much faster. Larger tanks mean fewer refills but a heavier tool.

Look for an adjustable flame dial, a safety lock, and a stable base so the torch can stand upright between uses.

Use butane refined at least 5x, and ideally 11x. Cheaper, less-refined fuel leaves oils and impurities that clog the jet, weaken the flame, and shorten the torch's life — the single most common cause of a torch that stops working.

Turn the flame adjuster to the lowest setting, then hold the torch upside down and press the butane canister nozzle straight into the fill valve for 5–10 seconds. Bleeding first — pressing the valve with a small screwdriver to release trapped air — is what makes the fill work.

Air trapped in the tank blocks liquid butane from entering and causes sputtering. After refilling, let the torch sit for 2–3 minutes so the fuel reaches room temperature before igniting.

A torch that will not light almost always has air trapped in the tank, a safety lock engaged, or a jet clogged by low-grade butane. Work through these five checks in order — the fix is nearly always one of them:

• Air in the tank. Bleed the valve completely, then refill.
• Just refilled. Wait 2–3 minutes for the fuel to warm.
• Safety lock engaged. Check the lock switch near the trigger.
• Flame dial at zero. Turn it up a quarter turn.
• Clogged jet. Blow compressed air through the nozzle — a symptom of low-grade butane.

No. All torches ship completely empty. Butane is a flammable compressed gas and cannot be shipped by air, so you will need to buy fuel locally — most hardware stores, tobacconists, and smoke shops carry refined butane.

A typical mid-size torch tank holds enough butane for roughly 30–60 minutes of continuous burn, which usually works out to a week or two of regular use. Larger multi-flame torches burn fuel faster per second but hold more of it.

Pick the tip shape to match consistency. A scoop or spoon tip handles runny, viscous material; a pointed or needle tip works best on hard, glassy textures; a paddle or flat tip is the versatile middle ground.

Titanium and stainless steel tools are the most durable; glass and quartz tools are the most flavor-neutral but break if dropped.

Yes. We carry replacement downstems, bowls, ash catchers, and mouthpieces in standard joint sizes. Measure your joint diameter and note the gender — a broken 14 mm male downstem needs a 14 mm male replacement, not a female one.

Downstems are also sized by length, measured from the bottom of the joint to the tip. Measure the broken one before ordering.

Yes. We stock smell-proof and lockable cases, silicone and glass storage containers, rolling trays in several sizes, and padded travel cases sized for e-rigs and portable vaporizers.

Empty the water, add 91% isopropyl alcohol and a tablespoon of coarse salt, plug the openings, and shake for 2–5 minutes. The salt acts as an abrasive while the alcohol dissolves residue. Rinse thoroughly with warm water and let it dry completely before use.

Never pour boiling water into cold glass — even borosilicate can crack from that much thermal shock. Warm water only.

Change the water after every session and do a full alcohol-and-salt clean weekly with regular use. Clean water alone prevents most buildup, and a piece cleaned weekly takes two minutes instead of the half hour a neglected one needs.

Swab the banger with a cotton swab while it is still warm — not hot — right after each use. Residue wipes away in seconds at that temperature. For deeper buildup, soak the banger in isopropyl alcohol overnight, then swab and rinse.

Avoid torching a dirty banger to burn residue off. It bakes carbon into the quartz, clouds it permanently, and ruins the flavor.

Disassemble it fully, tap out loose material, then brush the teeth and threads with a stiff-bristle brush. For aluminum grinders, soak the parts in isopropyl alcohol for 20–30 minutes, scrub, rinse, and dry completely before reassembling.

Do not soak wooden grinders — the alcohol strips the finish. Brush those dry instead.

Power the device off and let it cool. Wipe the 510 connection and mouthpiece with a dry or lightly alcohol-dampened cotton swab, and brush loose material out of a dry material chamber. Never submerge an electronic device or get liquid near the battery.

Coils and atomizers are consumable — when flavor turns burnt and cleaning does not fix it, replace the coil.

Weak vapor almost always traces to one of five causes: a low battery, a worn coil, dirty 510 contacts, a temperature setting that is too low, or a chamber packed too tightly. Check them in that order:

• Low battery — output drops well before the battery dies. Charge it fully.
• Worn coil — coils are consumable and lose output over time.
• Dirty contacts — residue on the 510 connection blocks current. Swab it clean.
• Temperature too low — step the setting up one level.
• Chamber packed too tight — restricted airflow chokes the draw. Pack more loosely.
