Since we're in the business of "cannabis", we feel that it is our duty to share all information, whether it is concerning hemp or marijuana. It is our pleasure to announce that Delaware has officially become the 22nd state to legalize recreational marijuana. Starting April 23, at midnight, residents can posses up to one ounce of marijuana legally in Delaware.
California has always been a pro cannabis state, and they're continuing their motivation to learn more about the plant and cannabinoids within it by conducting scientific research. To ensure this happens, California regulators have awarded nearly $20 million to 16 state universities to conduct research on popular cannabinoids, such as Delta 8 and Delta 10, among more.
Have you ever thought about the economic impact of cannabis? Probably not but we're going to share details about it because you just might find it interesting. MJBiz Factbook recently published a research analysis that shared some incredible numbers when it comes to the economic impact that is generated by cannabis sales in the United States. It discovered that U.S. economic impact generated by cannabis sales will grow to $100 billion in 2023, and up to $160 billion in additional spending that will be added to the U.S. economy by 2027.
Since the 2018 Farm Bill, hemp businesses have been able to work with banks to ensure access to hemp-derived products for consumers, but the majority of banks still turn away hemp businesses because of the confusion and gray area that still marks hemp products. Banks are confused about the difference between hemp and marijuana, they're still under threat of having their insurance discontinued or limited, and they could even possibly face criminal prosecution. All of this may end soon and new banking opportunities for hemp businesses could open, thanks to the SAFE Banking Act, which is headed for vote in the U.S. Senate.
